Al Khidr Library for Children continues in implementing winter season activities and events for 2019 which bears the name of “I am Human.” The library activities targets the children aging between 4 and 12 years. These activities aim at promoting the human rights based approach which is one of NAWA strategic cross-cutting issues adapted by NAWA in its activities and programs.
The activities the library implements include: cultural activities that increase the access of the children to the information, art activities that promote the children education and practice for visual and non-visual arts, and recreational activities.The cultural activities include storytelling session and information literacy and scientific research, book club course, and Calligraphy Course. Meanwhile, the library implemented a group of art courses including: free painting activities.
Al Khidr Library for Children activities come under: “Vulnerable Children Empowerment through Non-Formal Education” which is implemented in partnership with Drosos Foundation.
In their roles, the children expressed their happiness towards the implemented activities and courses. Lojain Al Azayza, 11, said, “I was very fascinated for the vacation to come where I took part in the book club, for I love storytelling very much, and I love to take part in the theatric shows.”
