NAWA Launches its Second Strategic Plan (2018-2020)

Nawa for Culture and Arts Association (NAWA) launched its second strategic plan (2018-2020) on Tuesday 13th, February, 2018. This plan is a product of partnership between NAWA and the Civil Society Program of GIZ, and its development was facilitated Al Athar Consulting Company. This second strategic plan is a symbolization for NAWA vision which is creating a “an innovative and inclusive cultural environment for the Palestinian family.”

NAWA will work on implementing this strategic plan through signing a set of partnerships with active institutions working within the same domain and through adopting the following: a human rights-based approach (HRBA), inclusive development approach, gender equality, and responsible environmental culture and promoting pro-environmental behaviors.

In order to consolidate the sustainability concepts and principles in its strategic plan, NAWA is keen that its efforts are in line with the Sustainable Development Goals of “2030 UN Agenda for Sustainable Development.”

Mr. Andreas Hermann, director of the Civil Society Program (CSP), expressed his pleasure with NAWA work and praised its efforts. He also noted that this strategic plan works to strengthen Palestinian civil society.
The presenters displayed NAWA general strategic framework of the second plan in terms of vision, mission and strategic objectives including: To empower Deir Al Balah’s community culturally, artistically, and educationally, to strengthen NAWA’s institutional efficiency and financial sustainability, and To advocate for raising community sensitivity towards the Palestinian culture.
