NAWA Receives Taawon 2017: Falak and Abdel-Kareem Kamel Shawwa Award

NAWA won Taawon Gaza  Strip Award 2017 : Falak and Abdel-Kareem Kamel Shawwa Award for Gaza Community Based Organizations. This award is dedicated to civil society organizations that improve community services in the Gaza Strip, which is in dire need of further efforts to enhance its steadfastness and empower its people to have a better life and future. NAWA won this award for its competitive  ‘Restoration and Rehabilitation of the Holy Shrine of El Khader as a Children’s Library’ project. This award is granted by the Welfare Association -Taawon on an annual basis as one of five awards distributed in Palestine and Lebanon. Several organizations applied and competed for this award. The selection process went through different evaluation stages by a special committee of experts. The amount of this award is 50,000 USD. NAWA is planning to use the money received towards the coverage the activities of its second strategic plan.
